Hot Potato Productions:
Schedule: Saturday 27th July @ 1pm and 9pm
HOT POTATO PRODUCTIONS presents 'JUST GUFF' by Jim Ward with script development and direction by Jenny Bassett.
Galway Fringe award winning one act play seasoned with pathos about Irish politics past and present.
Set in an Irish small town post office, a series of revelations turn certainty upside down for an aging party political hack Sean T. Based on factual events and peppered with unknown details about Irish politics and with humorous anecdotes, this play was recently selected by The Sunday Times as pick of the week. Just Guff is a must for anyone interested in recent Irish political history and developments thereafter.
Cast includes Michael Irwin, Colette Devaney, Anne Ronayne, and Vera Kilgallon.
Come along chances are you’ve met Sean T already and enjoy Hot Potato’s first production!
Just Guff was premièred in the Cellar in Eglinton Street as part of the Galway Fringe 2017. Where it was awarded Best Play from the West. The hour long play was performed as part of lunchtime theatre in August 2017 at Seven. The play has gone on to successfully tour County Galway, performing in Tuam and Carrabane.
In September 2018 the play was part of The Kilkee Playwright Festival. More recently we performed at Liberty Hall in Dublin as part of the ten day Mayfest organised by SIPTU. Our last performance of Just Guff in Galway was November last year at the Town Hall Studio Theatre where we did a very successful 2 day run. We learnt from box office that there was huge interest in seeing the show and we could have filled the Studio Theatre for at least one more night.
Duration: 60 minutes no interval.
